MORE INFORMATION
Heather Rupp, Ph.D., CMT-P, RYT200
Dr. Rupp offers both in-person and online Mindfulness training for organizations, teams, and leaders. Through single workshops or longer custom series, she trains professionals to become the master of their own minds and how to control their attention and hold space for personal growth and awareness.
Heather began her career as a Research Psychologist with a Ph.D from Emory University in Behavioral Neuroscience. The focus of her work was how hormones influenced social and cognitive behavior, motivation, and decision-making. She continued this work with the Kinsey Institute and Indiana University as an NIH-funded researcher using fMRI and implicit cognitive methods to examine women's shifting neural and cognitive function across different reproductive states; including the phases of the menstrual cycle and post-partum period. She published over 15 peer reviewed publications during this time and had extensive media outreach.
Following her academic work, she transitioned to the business sector as a consultant and research executive applying cognitive neuroscience to business objectives. She worked in the tech, pharmaceutical, and marketing sectors to help stake-holders understand consumers' behaviors and motivations. Linking her diverse scientific and business experience with Mindfulness allows her to communicate from scientific and business perspectives the value and validity of Mindfulness for individuals and organizations.
In 2016 Heather decided to follow her personal passion and trained with the Mindfulness Training Institute in order to start her own wellness business. She and her sister opened EbbTide Wellness Studio in 2017 which offered Mindfulness, Yoga, Acupuncture and Homeopathy in-person and online until 2023. During this time Heather has taught hundreds of Mindfulness sessions in the studio, online, and on-site. Organizations served include government agencies, teachers, law firms, pharmaceutical companies, concierge wellness providers, investment firms, entrepreneur groups, and healthcare providers. Today, Heather continues EbbTide Wellness and Mindfulness teaching on her own as an online and travel Wellness company.
Personally, Heather came to Mindfulness after a period of challenging personal, physical, and professional crisis. She has used Mindfulness tools herself for the life-changing benefits she offers others. When she is not meditating, she can be found in the woods hiking or on the water paddling with her dog.
